LEGO Ideas Caterpillar never enough

After 43 days, the very hungry caterpillar reaches the LEGO Ideas community. The Very Hungry Caterpillar collected the necessary 10,000 fan votes on LEGO Ideas. Lyonsblood's design is the 30th design in the current review phase.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar is a very famous children's book written and illustrated by Eric Carle in 1969. The story is about a young caterpillar who is looking for food. The food he eats is written on every page and you can see the literal holes in the paper as he flips through the entire book. It has been on sale continuously for over 50 years and is considered one of the greatest children's classics of all time. It has sold more than 50 million copies and has been translated into more than 60 languages.

The LEGO Caterpillar has the same number of legs and also has two different shades of green and a turquoise color to mimic the body. The back stands out with a yellow-red-blue stripe. The Little Caterpillar's body has been segmented and ball joints have been added, giving the structure many possibilities.

Also inspired by the illustrations are the fruits - apple, pear, plum, strawberry and an orange. These are the first five items he finds in the book, and they all have the famous "hole" in their construction. The insatiable set consists of 350 parts.

I loved this book as a child and apparently it is still very popular. I'm not sure the set will have a chance. The Little Prince was rejected in 2013. Where's Walter? and Dr Seuss and LEGO are awaiting a review. In fact, I doubt I'd have a shot at either of those.

However, since the Little Caterpillar is a fairly small set and the book is so widely distributed, it might have a chance. So far, the 21315 pop-up book has made it into the LEGO Ideas theme series; The Insatiable wouldn't be a book, but I think it could have a chance.
