New LEGO Ideas New Holland Forage Harvester in review phase

New LEGO Ideas #40 – Netflix series “Wednesday” and the New Holland receive 10,000 votes together

Summertime is vacation time. A good opportunity to relax for a while. People go on a trip or take a few day trips, while the LEGO bricks usually take a break. We are still monitoring Ideas, introducing you to the new products of the past two weeks and looking at the contests that are still running. Look out for a short update in our overview.

LEGO also collects product suggestions for upcoming sets via the Ideas platform. In order for your build to qualify for a review, you need the support of 10,000 votes from the community. Every four months, LEGO reviews the presented models and checks whether they should be made into an official set. We are currently in the 2nd evaluation phase in 2024, which will run until early September 2024. In the last two weeks, only two projects have passed the magic limit, expanding the pool to twenty candidates. Compared to last year, it is much quieter for Ideas, as we already had 39 qualifiers at the same time last year.

A similarly calm picture can currently be seen in the challenges. There we are waiting for the winners of the Pets Contest. There is still some time to briefly discuss the fan voting models. In addition, a staff change has quietly taken place, which could have an impact on Ideas in the future. Of course, you can read everything you need to know about this in this newsletter. Enjoy reading.

New Holland CR Combine

Features:

Description:

In recent years, LEGO has increasingly included agricultural themes in its product range. But apart from the Claas Xerion tractor from the Technic series, which was launched in 2016, we have been looking in vain for really big agricultural machines lately. With a lot of luck, that could change soon, because YELLOW style presents us with the CR series from New Holland. The company was founded in 1895 as a repair shop and started offering its own products in 1899. After a turbulent history with several changes of ownership, the company currently belongs to the Fiat subsidiary CNH Industrial and employs around 40,000 people worldwide.

The CR series stands for powerful combine harvesters. Proof of this came in 2014 when the CR 10.90 set a new world record for serious performance in eight hours of continuous use: the machine harvested exactly 797,656 tons of grain during that time. Of course, the record was also documented as a YouTube video. If you are interested in the giant, you should expect purchase prices that can amount to more than a million dollars, depending on the model.

But let’s go back to the Ideas concept. It shows that the New Holland CR Combine is a powerful harvester with a cutting implement and the typical yellow branding. The model gives us an idea of how wide the cutting edge could be in reality. However, from the driver’s cab you have a good overview of what is happening and the harvest is collected in the container that is placed at the back. Once this is well filled, the harvest is transported via the movable pipe into an associated trailer and brought to the shed while the CR Combine can continue working.

The images may distort the dimensions of the design. We estimate the dimensions to be: approx. 35 cm long (without tube), approx. 45 cm wide and approx. 20 cm high.

  • Name: Wednesday The Room And The Balcony
  • Fan: Airbricks95 (3)

Description

Frenchman Airbricks95 took on the successful Netflix series for his current Ideas project on Wednesday. The American comedy-horror format only premiered on November 23, 2022 and is based on the character Wednesday Addams, who many know from the Addams Family. The Netflix production was directed by Tim Burton, who has been a guarantee for successful international film projects for years.

The Ideas model shows us Wednesday Addams' bedroom and balcony, as seen in the series. Of course, this also includes Wednesday's roommate: Enid. She is the complete opposite of the main character and loves bright colors, K-Pop and cuddly toys, as can be seen in the design. Wednesday gets her cello and her desk.

Ideas already had a concept for the Netflix series in the first review of 2023, which will continue in October. However, the idea was rejected by LEGO. If the rumors are true, there is a good reason for this, as Billund apparently plans to release official sets in the fall of 2024. Implementation is therefore almost impossible.
