AR FUNCTION CONTROL+ WITH THE NEW LEGO TECHNIC ZETROS 42129
Aktie
The impressive LEGO® Technic Mercedes-Benz Zetros Truck will be available on August 1, which is powered by Powered UP elements and uses the app to control it. But tucked away in the set's Control+ panel menu is a great AR (augmented reality) feature. This allows you to look inside the built-in set to see its inner workings. It's a simple feature, but it works amazingly well. To access it, all you have to do is launch the Control+ app. Go to the Control+ sets section and open the Manu. Here you will discover a cube symbol, which takes you into an AR experience. Place the built-in kit in a bright and well-lit area and watch the inner gear system and motors appear. You can also make them move in the same way as the actual set. Various overlays let you look inside the set or you can view the set and display it completely digitally.
The combination of LEGO sets and Augmented Reality have quite a messy history, but this is a really impressive implementation of the technology and certainly in keeping with the Technic brand. Most sets have complex engineering that gets lost in them once the set construction is complete. So the ability to 'see' them via AR is great and I hope it's something future sets will include.
