Climeworks is building a new large-scale facility
As Climeworks reports on its website, the Icelandic sustainability company is currently building a second large-scale direct air capture and storage facility in Iceland. In addition, the agreement between the two companies has a term of nine years and a contract size of $2.4 million.
LEGO bricks must become more sustainable
In addition to initiatives to reduce and remove carbon dioxide, the LEGO Group continues to work on solutions to make its products from more sustainable materials. This also includes the increased use of materials certified according to mass balance principles. By 2023, 18 percent of all purchased raw materials were certified according to mass balance principles, representing an estimated average of 12 percent renewable sources. The plan is to significantly increase this percentage in 2024 and beyond.
