The history of Funko Pop

The history of the Funko Pop dates back to the end of the last century. Initially, the company focused on the production of bobble heads. It was founded in 1998 and started out quite small with just these types of figures.

In 2010, the company founder released a few prototypes of the current figures under the name Funko Force 2.0. He went to the Comic Con in San Diego to gauge the reactions to these figures. The response here was mostly negative and people didn't seem to understand what was so fun.

Due to a number of positive reactions, the founder decided to take the risk: time to really make something of Funko. This risk has certainly been rewarded, because the figures are nowadays immensely popular and are widely sold.

Various released collections

Funko Pop is great fun for everyone to collect. This is due to the extensive number of collections that have been released, which includes recognizable figures for everyone, such as:
