LEGO 2141 Surge 2.0

2141 Surge 2.0 is a Hero Factory set released in January 2011. It contains the second variant of Mark Surge, a blue hero with a sniper.

Surge 2.0 is an improved version of Mark Surge, using the 2.0 parts, including flexible limbs and ball joint armor. He has a light green head and core and a sniper rifle made of three parts; a gun piece, a multi-tool brick and a blue laser blade that was also used to create LEGO Star Wars lightsaber beams. The sniper is held with two hands and can only be used sideways if held correctly. He wears a white Ordeal of Fire badge on his left upper arm and as headgear he has a heat sensor above one eye and a communicator next to his mouth. The secondary armor color is white.

Surge 2.0 operates as a sniper in the new Hero Factory teams. Previously a rookie, Surge was promoted to a full-fledged hero after the battles with Von Nebula. When the heroes responded to the fire villain's attack on gas station 22, Surge voluntarily distracted the fire villains so the other heroes and workers could escape. Later, he drives something into Fire Lord, which stops his consumption of Hero Dropship fuel and allows the other Heroes to defeat the villain. When the victorious Heroes return to Hero Factory, Surge will receive the 2.0 upgrade.

Surge is not featured in the late 2011 Hero Factory 3.0 wave.
He is the only hero to miss the 2.0 upgrade until after the Ordeal of Fire mission.
Several BIONICLE sets use laser beams such as Surge, an example is Toa Nuparu with a red laser blade.
