The LEGO Technic 42172 McLaren P1 will be available from the 2TTOYS LEGO store from August 1, 2024, and as with previous supercars, a life-size replica has been created. McLaren F1 driver Lando Norris was asked to drive a lap of the iconic British circuit of Silverstone in the LEGO Technic McLaren P1.

The replica is made from 342,817 LEGO Technic bricks and weighs 1220 kg. The model has fully functional steering and is the first major build that is able to steer and take corners on a track. Under the hood we find an electric motor made up of LEGO Technic Function batteries and an electric car battery, allowing it to drive further than any other LEGO model to date.
A total of 23 specialists from the LEGO Group and McLaren Automotive worked on the project. 8,344 hours were spent on development and construction. A total of 393 different types of LEGO Technic bricks were used. Once the car was assembled, the ultimate challenge was on the agenda: a lap around Silverstone with Lando. And who better to be behind the wheel than Lando Norris?
