LEGO 8479 Barcode Multi Set

The main model of the set consists of a single LEGO® Technic model, a large, green container truck. A detailed cab has been built at the front, with interior details such as seats for TECHNIC figures to sit on (although none are included in the set), levers, a steering wheel and a dashboard. The cabin itself has been built in detail, such as the rear view mirrors on the sides, the sloping roof and the roll cage bars around the interior of the cabin.

A large gripping claw has been built in front of the cabin, which is automated via the barcode system. He is able to lift light objects. Also, the entire claw assembly can move up and down and deposit the gripped object into the container of the container truck.

Dual vertical exhaust pipes are built behind the cabin. Behind that is the brick-style barcode scanning remote control. Underneath all this, several automatic switches are built, controlling various functions. The truck also has front steering, although not controlled by the engine included in the kit.

In the main model, the set's one electric motor can be switched between moving the truck wheels, the grab arm and the container. The Code Pilot system connects to one touch sensor and can control one engine at a time. Using barcodes, the system can be programmed to do a number of things, such as changing the speed of the motor, operating the motor when the sensor is activated and playing sounds. The Code Pilot has its own manual that explains how to use it and a large sheet of barcodes to program it.
