LEGO Super Mario; Frequently Asked Questions

What is LEGO Super Mario?

For the first time, Super Mario™ is brought to life in the physical LEGO® world!

LEGO Super Mario is a new product line that allows children to experience the playful world of Super Mario in a completely new way in the physical world. The experience features an interactive LEGO® Mario™ figure that collects coins in real levels made with LEGO bricks

It's all about building and rebuilding, creating unique courses and seeing how many coins you can grab in 60 seconds.

To unlock the LEGO Mario universe, fans will need the LEGO Super Mario Adventures with Mario Starter Set, as this is the only set to include LEGO Mario, the Starter Tube and Flagpole, all of which are required to play.

Although the LEGO Super Mario play experience is based on a traditional LEGO product with bricks, the experience is unique because children can freely build the world of Super Mario, and then their LEGO Super Mario figure can interact in fun ways in the world that they create. they created!

With LEGO Super Mario products, including modular buildings, fans can decide exactly how they create the course in which they want to see Mario come to life. This is possible with both the LEGO Super Mario Adventures with Mario starter set (which is the starting point of the LEGO Super Mario universe), and adding expansion sets that each reveal even more exciting challenges and characters.

What's included in the LEGO 71360 Supermario Starter Set?

This starter set offers a great introductory experience to the LEGO® Super Mario™ universe. The set contains a LEGO® Mario™ figure that provides instant responses via the LCD screens and speaker. It also contains 7 action bricks for even more play possibilities with the LEGO Mario figure. The LEGO Mario figure itself has LCD screens in his eyes, mouth and stomach, allowing him to display a wide range of instant responses to movement, color and action bricks. The built-in speaker plays recognizable sounds and music from the game. Players can earn virtual coins by taking LEGO Mario from the Start Tube to the Flagpole via spinning platforms and cloud platforms, the ? block and super battles with the characters Goomba and Bowser Jr. Users can rearrange the modules and create new levels to master.

The most unique feature of the LEGO Super Mario product line is the interactive play with the LEGO Super Mario figure.

In addition to the LEGO Super Mario starter set, this new play theme consists of eight complete expansion sets, four power-up packs with which LEGO Mario can change suits and skills and 10 enemy characters in surprise bags.

What's new about the LEGO Supermario Luigi figure?

For the first time since the launch of LEGO® Super Mario™, we have introduced a new character: LEGO® Luigi™. This playable LEGO character is one LEGO® plate larger than LEGO® Mario™ and has the iconic look and features of Luigi from the game: his recognizable and charming personality, and his unique voice.

Thanks to the arrival of LEGO Luigi, fans of LEGO Super Mario will discover a completely new way of playing and for the first time they can experience the coolest adventures with 2 players for an unprecedented social playing experience!

Connect LEGO Mario and LEGO Luigi via Bluetooth and play as a team with your family or friends. Have the two characters perform the same action at the same time, such as walking, turning and jumping, to receive digital bonus coins. Players can also collect bonus coins by defeating enemies and completing challenges together. You can even enter a friendly battle and compete against each other!

How can I have adventures with LEGO® Super Mario™ with someone else?

If you have a LEGO® Mario™ and a LEGO® Luigi™ figure, or two figures of either character, you can play 2-player mode in LEGO® Super Mario™!

First, make sure you have downloaded the latest version of the LEGO Super Mario app. Here you can read exactly how to download the app on your device.

Then take turns connecting your two figures and make sure the firmware is up to date (a notification will appear on the screen). Once the figures are updated, you can connect by pressing the Bluetooth buttons on their backs at the same time. When the figures are connected, a scarf with a Bluetooth symbol will appear on their belly screen.

Players can earn digital bonus coins by making the figures run, jump and spin simultaneously, by defeating enemies or by completing challenges together. You can also compete against each other in friendly battle in 2 player mode!

Do you need two mobile devices to play with the two interactive figures?

No. You only need one device with the app to build the sets and update the figures to the latest version.

After that, you no longer need a device and you can mainly use the app to find additional information and get inspiration. Try it yourself: update the figures and then disconnect the Bluetooth connection via the app to unpair the figures. LEGO® Mario™ and LEGO® Luigi™ will still connect to each other as soon as you press the Bluetooth button. So you can immediately start collecting coins as soon as you have scanned the Start Tube.

What exactly does 2-player mode entail?

Play the same level at the same time – When the two interactive LEGO® Super Mario™ figures are connected, you can play levels together. Read the action picture at the Start Tube and start playing. The two players are given extra time so that they can discuss and actually complete the level together.

Shared Time and Coins – When the figures are connected, players have equal time to play the level. Any time bonuses the players collect in the level apply to both players. All coins that the players collect in the level are shared. At the end of the level, players will see their shared score.

Completing a level together – If one of the players reads the action picture at the Flagpole, the other player has eight seconds to also read the action picture before the level ends. Players can challenge themselves in a fun way to read the picture at the Flagpole in time.

  • When LEGO® Mario™ and LEGO® Luigi™ are connected and one of them is damaged by dangerous colored bricks, falls off a platform or simply falls over, the other character reacts immediately.
