The design allows the connector to be placed in the center of bricks and larger plates. The Basic Connector is the simplest of the Track Connectors and is easiest to use for smaller children. And it's the bread and butter of great wooden train track construction. A great feature of the Basic Connector is that the hole is deepened and the point is lowered slightly, which works together with the clearance, to allow building up (or down) with normal wooden rails. Both curved and straight rails.
